Glitterfest

I got this Barry M aqua Glitter and W7 Black polish las week and thought I would try them out together!  They look fab together!  These pictures don't do the glitter justice!  I couldn't capture the glitter very well on my camera at all!

Excuse the mess of my nails I forgot to clean up a few smudgies before I took the picture!  :O

This is the first time I used Barry M's Aqua Glitter and I LOVE it!  It goes on so easily and I recon it would give full coverage in a few coats with the amount of glitter in it!  There are tiny pieces of micro glitter and small hexagonal glitter pieces.

This is also the first time I used W7's Black on my nails as a base colour.  It is a great stamping polish but this is an excellent one coater black!  I have never come across a one coater black before :)  and at under £2 it's a bargain!

Nails Inc - Sweets Way Swatch

Nails Inc recently released a Sprinkles collection of Nail Polish.  I saw a swatch of this somewhere and I knew I had to have it!  I love it!  It is a milky white nail polish with blue, white and pink glitter throughout it.  The swatches above are 3 coats and went on very easily.  No need to fish for glitter like some glitter varnishes :)  !  You can buy it on the nails inc website here.  This is one of my new favourite polishes!  I didn't want to take it off but I have so many new nail polishes (and stamps!) for my birthday to try out so I just had to put it on my toe nails!

The only thing I HATE with glitter is taking it off!  I have so much trouble with it but I found a great tutorial here with step by step instructions which worked perfectly and removed this so easily!  I even use acetone free nail polish remover and it worked brilliantly :)

I hope you like this swatch!

Galaxy Nails

Max Factor - Onyx
Marks and Spencer - White Tip
Barry M - Yellow
17 - Orange Soda
Missguided - Mischievous
George - Jackpot
Make up sponge
Cocktail Stick

I kept seeing these about other blogs and decided to have a go at my own.  Heres how I did it:

  1. I painted my nails all over black (over a base coat!)
  2. Ripped up the sponge and used the torn side to dip it into white polish and use it to sponge random lines over my nails (into the shapes in my nails above)
  3. I went over some of the white with the yellow with the sponge again (not completely covering the white but most of it)
  4. Next I used the orange and pinky red to sponge over small parts of the colours already (not too much, just maybe one side of it)
  5. I used the white with sponge again just to blend it a bit more into the black very gently, not much at all, just enough to make it not look like as solid lines.
  6. I used a cocktail stick to put random white dots all over the black.  Keeping them tiny apart from one or two big ones.
  7. After this was dry I used a small glitter polish coat just to add more stars too the look
  8. And finally a topcoat!
This was a very quick nail art for me compared to how long it usually takes!  The sponged areas dry almost instantly so there is no waiting around for nails to dry for so long :)

Tipped Sparkle Red

Max Factor - Onyx
Max Factor - Deep Mauve
OPI - Pirouette my Whistle
George - Matt Finisher

I had the max factor deep mauve for a long time now and only worn it once as I am not a huge fan of full red on my nails(although this is a gorgeous red that shines purple ish in the light).  Then I got the OPI glitter polish I thought it would go great together so I put 2 coats on top of 2 coats of the red and wore it yesterday.

I had a bit of wear on the tips but didn't fancy taking it all off so soon (trying to get glitter off with an acetone free remover is frustrating!) so I used tape to mark out V shaped tips and painted black over :).  I LOVE matt top coats on top of glitter and wanted it to look totally different from yesterday so I matted them after :) and I love them.  What do you think?

White Glitter Mani

OPI - Don't touch my tutu
OPI - Pirouette my whistle
Marks and Spencer - White
George - Matt Finisher

Here is a matte white glitter manicure.  I used 4 coats of don't touch my tutu and 1 coat of pirouette my whistle, then using manicure stickers I painted my white tips and finished with  matte topcoat.

This is my first time using this OPI glitter polish and I love it.  It is so sparkly and full of glitter!

I hope you like this mani!

Sparkle Tips

George - Witchcraft
George - Jackpot
George - Matt Finisher

First I painted my nails all over with the witchcraft colour.  Once that was dry I painted the tips (and one full nail) with 3 coats of the Jackpot glitter varnish and left to dry.  I finished with the Matt Finisher :)

These would be good christmas nails!

Matte Sparkle French Manicure

George - Base Coat
George - Jackpot
George - Matte Finisher
Marks and Spencer - White Tip
French Manicure Stickers

I bought 3 new nail polishes today, again all 3 by george from asda.  All 3 only £1.75 each.  Bargain if you don't have much change to spare.  Also picked up french manicure strips while I was in also for 99p.  So much easier than fiddling about trying to cut tape into perfect curved strips!

Here I used 2 of my new polishes named Base Coat (a nice natural colour) and Jackpot (a delicate silver glitter polish).  I applied 2 coats of the Base Coat to my nails.  I used my new manicure strips to separate the tips, painted them with white polish pulled off the strips and left to dry.  I applied another coat of the Base Coat and left to dry.  Next I put on a coat of Jackpot and left to dry.  Finally I put a coat of the matt finisher on finish.  I have never tried a matt french manicure or a glittery one but I think it turned out really nice and natural especially with the matt finish.  The glitter is so subtle with the one coat, I really like it.

Has anyone else had any experience with any of the george nail polishes? Let me know what you think of them?  Let me know what you think of these nails :)
